The Truth Behind the Religious Wars

Mike Bhangu's novel War and Religion thoughtfully explores the ties between war and religion. Looking at the three major faiths involving God; Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, Bhangu argues that it is not God himself that is the architect of the mass violence like the crusades, the inquisition or other holy wars that have been fought in the name of religion, but rather the product of the political powers that be, which have shifted and altered the truths of the scriptures. Bhangu's writing style is refreshingly straightforward and easy to read. The book is well organized and makes some really good points. The book is well researched and provides helpful insight into how the faith has been twisted to match certain political goals. This book really makes you think about motivations in general and definitely made me understand some of the horrible things that have happened in the past that were in the name of religion. It's a great book for anyone hoping to get a better idea of what the actual truth of these religions is and what they really teach, vs. how they've been twisted.

Engaging and Inspiring

Author Mike Bhangu provides complete reference to why religions (and doctrines) divide people, cause wars, etc. For ages, horrific acts of murder, oppression, torture, and more, have been accomplished in the name of religion. Reading Bhangu’s thought-provoking book, I wonder why all the people of earth, as “smart” as we are, can’t come to one consensus about God and how to live in peace. Bhangu proposes that, possibly, the turmoil among religious sects may actually be sanctioned by God, and that we are left to deal with the aftermath. Bhangu writes, “One day, the circumstances will push us into the rain to search for God again.”

Do we believe that we “can provoke God into acting” and save us from ourselves? As Bhangu points out, we must not be ignorant, nor dismiss what is happening in the world. The world, once again, is on the brink of change. Recommended reading for everyone.

Why religion is killing people

Religion and war are almost inseparable, perhaps because of the teachings in religions that are totally intolerant of others. Bhangu, in his book ”War and Religion”, takes us back to how religion caused the death of many people who failed to follow their ways of teachings. Interestingly, Bhangu does not take any stance on matters of religion, what he simply does is to question why religion is killing people. If religion teaches about a God who is merciful and loving to all persons, why should he allow people to kill others in his name? I totally love how Mike Bhangu presents his thoughts on religion, and he makes me ask myself, why is war found in religion? From his opinions, I’m able to question the truth of religion and how I should react to matters of religion. “War and Religion” is a book worth reading

If you are a stand-up wanting to get a book to help you in the craft - this is not the book for you!

You would be much better off buying Ajaye's "Comic Insights" or Carter's "Comedy Bible" and watching a lot of comedy.

This book is more for comic theatre actors, and then it is not much chop. The end.

As an acting teacher, I have suugested my students struggling with understanding comedy, buy this book. It's current, easy, fun, funny and will give you a step by step guide on how to be funny, how to understand funny and how to recognize funny. The exercises are very helpful. A must read if you have any interest in getting into comedy as a performer.

As an aspiring actor Paul's Book has opened my eyes to so many fun and interesting acting techniques I never knew about. I've been studying acting for years and this is the first of the many books I've read that has made learning comedy fun and simple yet at the same time has stretch my abilities which has forced me to explore many new avenues in my career. I recommend this book to all types of actors. Its always good to explore the various realms of acting, whether you be a comedic or dramatic actor.

This is a great primer for any shell loving child

This is a great primer for any shell loving child. This book talks about the different types of shells, the animals that live inside of shells, fossils, food that comes from shells, freshwater shells, pearls, and more. The hardcover is not library bound, and it does have a slit cut out in it that displays a clip art cd. Clearly, this is an older book. The photographs, although not very saturated, are beautiful in some parts of the book and dull in others. The book reads like any other DK Eyewitness book with facts sprinkled throughout the photos. The book comes with an informational wall chart that I picture being hung in a classroom of some sort. Overall, I am happy with this book and would recommended it to anyone with young children.
